Respiratory Monitoring

Following the guidelines established by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia, this presentation outlines how to effectively assess the anesthetized patient’s respiratory status.
This webinar reviews how to properly perform capnography including identifying and troubleshooting abnormal waveforms. This webinar will also discuss proper use and limitations of pulse oximetry as well as an introduction to advanced monitoring techniques used to monitor the respiratory system. Clinical case examples will demonstrate how a variety of monitoring methods can be used together to assess and improve respiratory status.
Upon completion of this presentation, the viewer should be comfortable with a range of common respiratory monitoring techniques and understand their role in providing conscientious patient care. This training will extend to recognizing normal and common abnormal capnography waveforms along with their causes and treatment options, while also building confidence in obtaining optimal, consistent results with a pulse oximeter.
Think Anesthesia: Respiratory Monitoring is RACE-approved for both veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
